Kyabje Zong Rinpoche Chanting Dorje Shugden Prayers

This is a rare video of His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche chanting prayers to Dorje Shugden accompanied with the playing of ritual instruments.

Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was an erudite and knowledgeable master of the Gelug tradition. Born in 1905 in the village of Nangsang in the Kham province of eastern Tibet, Kyabje Zong Rinpoche journeyed to Lhasa at the age of 11 in order to study the Buddhadharma. His principle mentor was His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Rinpoche, the junior tutor to His Holiness the 14^th Dalai Lama, and he received full ordination from His Holiness the 13^th Dalai Lama at the Potala Palace.

Kyabje Zong Rinpoche was famous for his impeccable knowledge and perfect ritual skills, which served him well during his nine-year tenure as the Abbot of Gaden Shartse Monastery. Under his lead, Gaden Monastery flourished as a great bastion of monastic discipline through Kyabje Zong Rinpoche’s supreme motivation and determination to spread the Buddha’s doctrine.
