2014 was a very significant year for Shar Gaden Monastery’s abbot, Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Jinpa. This was the year Khen Rinpoche, accompanied by his entourage, made an offering of tenshug to His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche at Trijang Buddhist Institute in Vermont, USA.
Tenshug is a long-life ceremonial offering to the spiritual guide who has chosen a human rebirth, requesting him to live long for the benefit of all sentient beings. Tenshug offerings are very necessary for our lineage lamas to live long and continue their enlightened activities.
In order for a tenshug to be effective, the spiritual guide to whom it is being offered must formally accept the tenshug ritual. This particular offering was requested and offered not only by Khen Rinpoche but by the 700 monks of Shar Gaden Monastery.
Shar Gaden Monastery had previously made several sincere requests for Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche to accept a tenshug from the monastery but to no avail. Thus, this time, by accepting the tenshug from Shar Gaden Monastery, Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche blesses the monastery with increase and growth.
The tenshug ceremony was also the first time Khen Rinpoche, in his new capacity as abbot, had an audience with Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche. In fact, the previous incarnation of Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche, His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Dorje Chang, was Khen Rinpoche’s root guru who bestowed upon him many precious teachings and empowerments.
Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Jinpa is primarily based in Taiwan, where he works to spread the Dharma and garner support for Shar Gaden Monastery.
Today, Khen Rinpoche tirelessly continues his work for the preservation of Lama Tsongkapa’s pure lineage. It is due to the efforts of both His Eminence Kensur Rinpoche Lobsang Phende (Abbot Emeritus of Shar Gaden Monastery) and Khen Rinpoche Geshe Lobsang Jinpa that Shar Gaden Monastery has grown into a full-fledged monastery.
Please support us so that we can continue to bring you more Dharma:
Hello dear Rinpoche. I found this page and would welcome a reconnection via email. You took two automobile tours with my wife Carol and me Indiana and Michigan in 1990 and 1991. You also had supper at our house once. I hope this finds you in good health! Carol, unfortunately, is in very poor health due to advanced Alzheimer's disease. Please keep her in your thoughts.
Would you do a Puja for Putin to overcome his desire, hate and ignorance?
Best regards

Is greed okay if it helps develop more positivity (in small picture)? Distractions dissolve from themselves, getting involved only expands them, but aren't there hopes to be fulfilled in the long run by innvolment?
7 offering bowls (yes) but how many butter lamps for very small altar ? I am thinking of only one (which I can afford and the space is limited. Is one butter lamp acceptable ?
There are no upcoming events at this time.

Posted on July 6, 2016 #1 AuthorWhen High Lamas takes rebirth in a human form, they are subjected to all the human conditions, such as ageing, sickness, discomfort, etc. However, they are willing to “suffer” for the benefits of sentient beings. Therefore, we as practitioners should treasure these lamas who tirelessly “come back” and spread the Dharma. As such, it is really good news that HH Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche accepts the Tenshug offering.
With all the unrest in this world, and the hatred between different groups of people, I pray that Buddha’s teaching of kindness, peace and compassionate can spread far and wide with great lamas such as HH Trijang Rinpoche. I offer butterlamps to HH Trijang Rinpoche and requrest Him to live long and pray all His works flourish.

Posted on July 7, 2016 #2 AuthorI rejoice at reading that His Holiness Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche had accepted the tenshug offered by Khen Rinpoche and his entourage. And since then Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche had taught and given conferments to the masses. How wonderful to have an enlightened incarnate Master start turning the Wheel of Dharma to benefit the people with the precious dharma.
As a practitioner of Protector Dorje Shugden, Kyabje Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche had faced much abuse and threats over the years, just our Guru, H.E. the 25th Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. With much courage and compassion, these high Lamas continue to carry on with propitiating the precious dharma and practises to us. We as students and receiver of such precious gift should continue creating the cause for our Gurus to have the avenue to turn the Wheel of Dharma for the benefit of others. May all the Masters of Dharma have very long and healthy lives and may their work continue to be manifested and successfully spread to the 10 directions. May the ban on Dorje Shugden be swiftly removed to benefit many with his practises.

Posted on May 3, 2018 #3 AuthorI wonder why Tenshug is important and I’ve got my answer here! It is said that in order for a tenshug to be effective, the spiritual guide to whom it is being offered must formally accept the tenshug ritual. Hence, meaning to say that H.H. Trijang Chocktrul Rinpoche has formally accepted that He will make sure that He will live long, and will continue to spread the Dharma in his capacity as high Lama. I’m sure He was happy to receive this and had some plans in His mind to be active in spreading the Dharma once again.
When H.H. accepted this, it also means that H.H. will turn the Dharma Wheel for the sake of many beings and look at all these years, we have H.H. being so active and H.H. went from one place to another, to give teachings, initiation and empowerment. The last I heard was H.H. being ushered will during His visit to Mongolia and it was broadcasted all over the Mongolia in TV too!
Now only I realised the significance of this. Thank you for this article
